Mary Lee Taylor’s RECIPE FOR
ONION CHEESE DIP

  1. Mash with a fork in a small bowl…Two 3-oz. pkgs. softened white CREAM CHEESE
  2. Beat in gradually until smooth…1/2 cup PET Evaporated MILK
  3. Stir in…1/2 pkg. dried ONION SOUP MIX (1/4 cup)
  4. Chill. Serve with potato chips, small crackers, or strips of celery or carrots. Makes 1 cup.

NOTE: If the mixture seems too stiff for easy dipping, add a little more evaporated milk.

This vintage recipe was written on the back of a General Motors Inspection ticket, date unknown. One of the ingredients is listed as “Holly pineapple pop”, I don’t know what that is–anyone familiar with it? Recipe is typed below along with a scanned copy.

1 (6 oz) can frozen orange juice thawed
1 tbsp maraschino cherry juice
Pineapple – orange sherbet
Pineapple tidbits

Blend together milk, orange juice and cherry juice. Pour into tall chilled glasses. Add 2 scoops of Pineapple-orange sherbet and garnish with Pineapple tidbits.
