Vintage Recipe For Pumpkin Cream Pie

Pumpkin Cream Pie

1 package (6-serving size) JELL-O Brand Vanilla Flavor Pudding and Pie Filling
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 can (13 oz.) evaporated milk*
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 JOHNSTON’S Graham Cracker READY-CRUST Pie Crust
1 cup prepared DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping

Combine pie filling mix, sugar, spice, milk, egg and pumpkin in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a full bubbling boil. Remove from heat. Cool 5 minutes, stirring twice. Pour into crust and chill 4 hours.

Garnish with whipped topping and sprinkle with nuts, if desired.

*Or use 1-3/4 cups whole milk

Banana Delight Pie

1 package (6-serving size) JELL-O Brand Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding and Pie Filling
2-1/4 cups milk
2 bananas
1 JOHNSTON’S Graham Cracker READY-CRUST Pie Crust
1/2 cup thawed BIRDS EYE COOL WHIP Non-Dairy Whipped Topping

Prepare pie filling mix with 2-1/4 cups milk as directed on package for pie. Measure 1 cup filling; set aside. Pour a thin layer of the remaining filling into pie shell. Set aside half of 1 banana. Slice 1-1/2 bananas and arrange slices on filling in shell. Top with remaining filling. Blend whipped topping into measured filling; spread carefully over filling in shell. Chill 3 hours. Garnish with additional whipped topping and reserved banana, sliced.

2 3-oz. pkgs. orange flavored gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 cup cold water
1 large banana, sliced (1 cup)
2 cups Kraft Miniature Marshmallows
1 cup dairy sour cream

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water; add cold water. Chill until slightly thickened. Fold in bananas; pour into 1-quart mold. Chill until firm. Combine marshmallows and sour cream; spoon over gelatin.

TROPICAL FRUIT BOATS

1 pineapple
1 cup strawberries, halved
2 bananas, sliced
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup Kraft Miniature Marshmallows

Cut pineapple lengthwise into quarters. Remove center of each slice, leaving 1/2-inch shell. Discard core. Cube pineapple removed from center; combine with remaining ingredients. Fill pineapple shells.

MERRY-GO-ROUNDER

4 cups Kraft Miniature Marshmallows
3/4 cup milk
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
3 bananas, sliced
6 jelly roll slices, approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter

Melt 3 cups marshmallows with milk in double boiler; stir until smooth. Gradually add eggs. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Chill until thickened; mix until well blended. Fold in whipped cream, 2 of the sliced bananas and remaining marshmallows. Arrange jelly roll slices and remaining banana slices to line 1 1/2-quart bowl; cover with marshmallow mixture. Chill several hours or overnight. Decorate with additional banana slices, if desired.

8 to 10 servings.

BLISSFUL BANANA PIE

1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup Parkay Margarine, melted

1/2 cup milk
3 cups Kraft Miniature Marshmallows

1 3 1/4-oz. pkg. vanilla pudding and pie filling
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
2 bananas, thinly sliced

Combine crumbs, nuts and margarine; press into 9-inch pie plate. Bake at 375°, 5 minutes; cool.

Combine chocolate pieces, milk and 1 cup marshmallows; stir over low heat until melted. Pour into crumb crust; chill.

Prepare pudding as directed on package, except using 1 1/2 cups milk. Cover with waxed paper; chill. Mix until well blended; fold in whipped cream and remaining marshmallows. Arrange bananas over chocolate layer; pour marshmallow mixture over bananas. Chill several hours. Garnish with additional banana slices, whipped cream and chocolate pieces, if desired.

6 to 8 servings.

1 3 1/4-oz. pkg. vanilla pudding and pie filling
1 1/2 cups Kraft Miniature Marshmallows
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
2 bananas, sliced
1 9-inch baked vanilla wafer crust, chilled

Prepare pie filling as directed on package, except using 1 3/4 cups milk. Cover with waxed paper; chill. Fold in marshmallows and whipped cream. Slice bananas into crust. Pour filling over bananas. Chill several hours. Garnish with additional miniature marshmallows and banana slices dipped in multi-colored sprinkles, if desired.

MILE HIGH LEMON CHIFFON PIE

PET-RITZ Pastry Piecrust Shell
3-oz. pkg. Lemon Gelatin
3/4 cup boiling Water
2 Eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 cup Sugar
2 Tablesp. Lemon Juice
1 1/2 teasp. grated Lemon Rind
1/4 teasp. Salt
1 cup PET Evaporated Milk
2 Tablesp. Lemon Juice

Have baked piecrust shell ready. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Mix eggs, sugar, 2 Tablesp. lemon juice, rind and salt in a 1 1/2-quart bowl. Stir in dissolved gelatin. Chill until thick, but not firm. Chill evaporated milk in ice tray until almost frozen at edges. Put ice-cold milk into cold 1 1/2-quart bowl of electric mixer. Using cold beaters, whip with electric mixer at high speed or with rotary beater until fluffy. Add 2 Tablesp. lemon juice and whip until stiff. Fold in gelatin mixture. Let stand a few minutes, or until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon. Heap into a shell. Sprinkle top with grated Lemon Rind. Chill until firm, about 2 hours.
