I am looking for wording for a vintage chicken soup recipe that starts out: Put one old chicken in one large pot – can anyone help? I am doing a Chicken Soup for the Soul scrapbook and can’t locate the way my grandmother wrote this recipe.

“old chicken” means one that has been put out to “free range” for 3-4 years & she is not putting out a good amount of eggs any more. Understand?
