Cake Frosting
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. white shortening
2/3 c. milk
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar. Heat milk to hot but not scalded & add 2 tbsp at a time. Add vanilla. Beat on high speed until you can’t taste the sugar.

This brings me back to my childhood. My mother used to make this icing for all of our birthday cakes. It’s still one of my go to icing recipes. My mom used to put this on a cherry almond cake and it was to die for. Now that my mom is gone I make it as a treat for myself and my family loves it.
I was looking for something just like this!! I really needed a vanilla frosting recipe and this is PERFECT! So cool.
