This is a handwritten recipe card found in a large collection of recipes (probably one cook’s lifetime collection). Date unknown. Recipe is typed below along with a scanned copy (click to view a large copy).
Sea Foam Candy
1 C sugar }
1 C dark corn syrup } Combine & Cook until 300°
1 T vinegar }
1 T soda
Remove from heat
Add soda – mix well
Pour on 9x9x2 Buttered pan
Cool
Break into pieces

There is a big difference in the handwritten recipe and the typed one. the dark line between the words vinegar and soda is there to separate the ingredients to be boiled and the one to be added after boiling. The typed one looks like add the soda first and then it says add soda like it was 2 sodas
