HAMBURGER AND NOODLE CASSEROLE

One box noodles Romanoff
One pound ground beef
One-half cup chopped onion
One can condensed mushroom soup
One-half cup milk
Two tablespoons chopped pimiento
One-fourth teaspoon thyme
Dash pepper
One cup soft bread crumbs
Two tablespoons melted butter
One-half cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Brown meat and onions (pour off excess grease). Stir in soup, milk, pimiento and seasonings. Add cooked noodle mixture. Top with crumbs and butter. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake 5 minutes more.

What do you use instead of a box of Noodles Romanoff, since it’s no longer made …. ?

My aunt used to make this for me. I had the recipe from 1970, have carried it around for years. Since you cannot buy the noodles anymore I make my own. Went looking for the recipe last night..I could not find it anywhere!! I freaked out, but you had it for me. Thank you! I love this casserole..brings back wonderful memories of sitting around my aunt’s table. Thank you!
