Dried Beef Casserole
Alternate layers of:
potato | dried beef |
carrots | onions |
peas | carrots |
rich thin cream sauce |
Cover with cream sauce & bake 350° for 2 hours.
RecipeCurio Note: Any ideas on the order of ingredients to layer (do you go down one column then over to the next, or is it left column, right column then back to left, right, etc.)? Is the top layer carrots or was that mentioned twice by error? Please let me know your thoughts below :)

Every casserole I’ve seen using layers always starts and ends with the potatoes.
I would layer it this way: potatoes, meat, peas, carrots, onions. then repeat ending with potatoes.
I would combine the peas and carrots and season with salt and pepper between layers, maybe add an herb also. I was thinking about how maybe adding a layer of bread crumbs after pouring the sauce would add something to this, dotted with butter.
I may give this a try.
