Handwritten Recipe For Lemon Butter Sauce Cubes

Lemon Butter Sauce Cubes

1/2 c. butter or marg – Melt & stir in 1/4 c. flour just until smooth.

Combine & add all at once–

1 T. sugar, 2 t. salt, 1 t. nutmeg, 1/2 t. lemon peel, 3 T. lemon juice, 3/4 c. water & few drops of yellow food coloring.

Stir until thick & pour into 8 x 4 1/2″

Freeze to consistency of ice cream. Cut in 32 sq. Put on cold cooky sheet & freeze solid. Pack in 4 pkgs. Use 1 pkg cubes & dissolve with 3/4 c. water. Heat till smooth & server over asap.

I have this recipe from a Farm Journal Vegetable cookbook and planning on making today. I’m searching for it, because I’m trying to figure out how to do this in ice cube trays
