This recipe was written on a lined index card and found in a large collection, date unknown but I think it’s a few decades old judging from the wear and yellowing of the card. I’ve typed it below along with a scanned copy.
Date Bars
Bake 350 – 25 to 30 min.
(Filling)
2 cups dates
1 cup sugar
1 cup hot water
Cool, add 1/2 nuts
2 1/2 c. oats (quick)
2 c. flour
1 c. crisco
1 c. br sugar
2 tablesp. hot water
1/2 teas soda
1 teas vanilla
1/2 teas salt
Mix like pie crust
