This hand written recipe card comes from a large collection of old recipes, date is unknown. I’ve typed the recipe as-is below as well as included a scanned copy.
Stewing
Apple Sauce (6 servings)
Home | One Table |
6 (cooking Apples) Sour | 2 |
1/8 c. sugar | 2 T. |
Cinnamon Candies or nutmeg | 4 or 5 |
FG Salt | FG |
- Wash apples and pare around apple starting at stem end.
- Cut into quarters and remove core.
- Slice, and cook in water until tender.
- Remove from fire add sugar, water, salt.
- Cool, add candies and serve.
