Thanks for posting this favorite recipe of mine. 40 years ago in 1974 I married my husband whose mother is Italian & so just a few months into our marriage when I found this recipe on my Crisco can I clipped it and tried it out on my ‘1/2 Italian’ husband…he & I both liked it and I’ve made it throughout the years for our children and parents. Those, like my mother-in-law, who didn’t care for the mushrooms just picked them out & didn’t eat them.

This is the “family recipe” for spaghetti that my mother used for at least 50 years. I’ve been using it all my married life (47 years) and my siblings all use it.

54 years ago I found this recipe on my Crisco can and decided to try it. My husband and I loved it. I have been using it ever since, although I had to increase the recipe since my 6 children all loved it and use it also!
